2012 MAHINDRA AUTO QUOTIENT

Mahindra Auto Quotient (AQ) is part of Mahindra & Mahindra’s endeavour to support and promote young automotive talent across the country’s engineering colleges and B-schools and has been engaging auto enthusiasts from the engineering and management fratemity for the past four years.

This year’s quiz saw over 33,000 students taking part from 40 colleges across the country. The participants went through a written round from where six teams were shortlisted for the city finals. The regional finals saw winners of each city finals battle it out at the NDTV 24x7 studios.

Through this time, it was established its position as India’s largest automotive quiz for students to showcase their passion for the world of automobiles.

The city rounds of the fourth edition of Mahindra AQ were held across 24 cities starting in September and ended with the airing of the episodes in December. In an action packed quiz that went down to the wire after several rounds and tie breakers, Deepak Mondal and Nikash Pandey from NIT. Durgapur emerged as the 2012 champions. JBIMS, Mumbai came second, IMT, Ghaziabad came third and LIBA, Chennai came fourth.

Winners of the grand finale received an all-expense paid trip to the Geneva international auto show while the first runner up got an all-expense paid trip to the Qatar MotoGP race. The second and third runners up will get the opportunity to participate in the Mahindra Great Escape. Participants also won other exciting prizes and cash pizes worth Rs.6.5 lakh.

BAJA IN SOCIAL MEDIA

While the students worked hard to put out the best ATV Possible. Mahindra and Mahindra was playing their part by making sure that the students receive the best exposure for their efforts. This year BAJA SAEINDIA has its own Face book page and revamped website.

At the moment there are over 31,700 fans of the BAJA SAEINDIA Face book page.

With growing popularity of social media today, staying connected has become extremely critical for both the students and the organizers.

As the event grows from strength to strength each year, we see steady growth in the number of participants and audience which guarantees a wider recognition platform for the students community. This will also translate into an increase in the number of future engineers available to manufactures, making this a win-win situation for everyone.
